We often receive physical templates from customers, these may be made from paper, card, MDF, or plywood. Once received, we use our professional scanner to capture the exact size and shape of the template. This allows our glass-cutting machines to produce an accurate and precise match of the required shape.
For certain shapes, a physical template or drawing is essential to ensure we achieve the exact cut you need.
Preferred Template Material
MDF boards are our preferred choice, as they work best with our laser measurement scanner and allow us to record dimensions with maximum accuracy.
Templates made from fabrics—such as bed sheets—are not ideal because they distort easily and cannot be measured accurately.
Card and paper templates will be just fine if you don’t want to send in wood pieces.
Sending Templates Directly to Us
Customers are welcome to send their templates directly to us. There is no issue with that.
However, it is essential that every template is labelled with customer information—at minimum:
- Name
- Address
- Telephone number
This information allows us to correctly link each template to the corresponding customer order.
Clearly labelled templates save time for both you and us—and help avoid unnecessary back-and-forth.
